Precision Laser Engraving for Lasting Value
Refine your surfaces with millimeter precision. From elegant wood finishes to robust metals – we professionally implement your visions in Linz.
Laser engraving is far more than just a marking process; it is a form of permanent refinement that merges material and design into an inseparable unit. In our workshop in Linz, we utilize modern CO₂ and Fiber laser technology to process both organic materials and hard industrial substances with the highest fidelity. Whether it is the personalization of a single piece or the series production of corporate items, we guarantee a clean edge and consistent contrast.
Our approach combines a craftsman's understanding of the material with digital precision. Since every material – whether it be open-pored oak wood, smooth leather, or reflective glass – reacts differently to the laser beam, we optimize the parameters for each project individually. This allows us to avoid unwanted burn edges on wood or stress cracks in glass, achieving a result that is convincing both haptically and visually.

Preparing Your Project for a Smooth Workflow
To ensure maximum precision and shorten the turnaround time, the quality of the provided data is crucial. The laser operates on the basis of vector graphics. Lines are interpreted as cutting paths or engraving areas. We recommend delivering files in formats such as .SVG, .DXF, or .AI.
If you do not have vector-based data, we offer the corresponding vectorization in our Layout Preparation service. Please ensure that all texts have been converted to paths (outlines) so that no fonts are lost. For detailed instructions, please visit our guide on Preparing Files for Laser.
Scope of Service: What is Included?
When you commission a laser engraving from us, you receive a complete package that goes beyond the mere machine run. We see ourselves as a partner for your design project.
- Technical feasibility check of your motif on the chosen material.
- Optimization of engraving depth for maximum readability and contrast.
- Professional fixation of the workpiece to prevent shifts.
- Removal of soot and combustion residues (depending on the material).
- Brief photographic confirmation of the result before pickup or shipping.
- Provision of the final, laser-optimized vector layout after full payment.
What We Do Not Offer (Exclusion Criteria)
To ensure the quality of our work and legal security, there are certain limits to our activities. We do not perform engravings on documents, identification cards, or official license plates. Likewise, we refuse the reproduction of protected trademarks or logos unless explicit consent from the rights holder is provided.
Due to technical reasons, we cannot process materials that release toxic gases under thermal stress from the laser, such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride). For safety reasons, we only process certified and laser-suitable materials.
Lead Times and Appointments
The average lead time for engraving projects is 5-7 days. This timeframe includes technical review, production scheduling, and final quality control. For larger quantities or complex layout adjustments, we coordinate the date individually with you.
For urgent projects, we offer an express option where processing is prioritized. Please note that, according to our business rules, a rush fee is charged for this. All binding details regarding delivery conditions can be found in our Terms.
Price Calculation and Transparency
The costs for laser engraving consist of two components: preparation and the actual processing time (or area). Preparation includes file checking and machine setup. Engraving costs are calculated based on the area in square centimeters, as this is the most precise method to reflect the effort for different motif densities.
All stated prices include the statutory VAT of 20%. For B2B customers, we transparently display prices both with and without VAT. Final billing is based on actual material consumption and engraving area.
| Material Category | Price incl. VAT | Price excl. VAT | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wood & Leather | 1.20 € | 1.00 € | pro cm² |
| Metal & Glass | 2.50 € | 2.08 € | pro cm² |
For a detailed breakdown of how costs are composed for different motifs, read our guide: Understanding Engraving Costs.
Frequently Asked Questions about Engraving
Can I bring my own materials?
Yes, this is generally possible. However, we ask that you send us information about the material in advance (data sheet or exact designation) so that we can check laser stability and safety. Materials containing chlorine (such as PVC) cannot be processed.
How deep is the engraving in the material?
The depth varies depending on the material and the desired effect. In wood and leather, we usually achieve a superficial, high-contrast marking. In metals (depending on the process), the engraving can be executed either as a colorless contrast or as a deeper removal of material. The exact depth is coordinated during the consultation.
Are the engravings weatherproof and permanent?
Laser engravings are physical material changes and are therefore significantly more durable than prints. On metal and glass, they are nearly indestructible. For wood and leather, we recommend additional sealing (e.g., via clear varnish) for outdoor use to protect the surface from moisture and UV radiation.
What happens if I don't have a vector format?
No problem. We can convert your raster graphics (JPG, PNG) into vector paths in our graphics department. This service is billed hourly as layout preparation. You can find the details under Layout Preparation.
Note: Since engraved objects are individually customized goods, they are excluded from the standard right of withdrawal according to EU directives for distance selling contracts.
